abertis autopistas reinforces its traveller care systems as part of the Crossing the Strait Operation

  • The aim of the operation is to facilitate and improve the flow of transit on the AP-7 tollroad.
  • The measures included in the Crossing the Strait Operation revolve around informative actions and the reinforcement of medical care on the tollroad.

With the aim of facilitating transit due to the increased flow of vehicles from all over Europe towards the south of Spain, abertis autopistas has launched an operation on the AP-7 tollroad that stretches from La Jonquera (Girona) to Alicante. This operation has been designed to reinforce the traveller information and care systems and to improve safety on this, the main tollroad of the Mediterranean coast.

The Crossing the Strait Operation has been launched in collaboration with the public authorities, the Catalan Transit Service, the Transit Division of the Mossos d'Esquadra, Áreas and the Red Cross. According to data from the Directorate General for Civil Protection and Emergencies of the Ministry of the Interior, nearly 500,000 vehicles are expected to hit the roads during the Summer Crossing the Strait Operation.
