The congress is organized by ASIMELEC, an association of the principal companies in the electronics, communications and IT sector in Spain, is the fifth edition of a meeting of representatives of government, industry and audiovisual operators, who will be putting forth their points of view on the new challenges confronting the sector on the eave of the disappearance of analogical television broadcasting.
First 3D-HD test broadcasts by DTT
The V International DTT Congress will serve as a stage for the first 3D-HD broadcasts on a DTT channel using consumer electronics technology implemented by abertis telecom.
These broadcasts were made possible by abertis telecom, which uses content received from the Eurobird9A satellite of the Eutelsat satellite system. Image reception at the congress site was made possible by abertis telecom retransmission through a DTT channel of signals from the Valencina broadcast center, which provides coverage for the city of Seville.
In an area set aside for demonstrations, congress attendants will be able to view the first 3D-HD images to be transmitted over a DTT channel to 3DHD televisions from Panasonic, Samsung and Sony, as well as on HD receivers from Siemens-Gigaset. As part of these demonstrations, abertis telecom will also be broadcasting the HD channel of Corporación RTVE, which has been operational since last June.
