In America, abertis is present in the toll roads sector in Brazil, Puerto Rico, Chile, Argentina and Colombia. 55% of the over 7,300 km of toll roads managed by abertis in the world are in Latin America.

In 2012,the integration of the OHL actives in Brazil -now, the arteris group- has lead abertis to the world leadership in the toll road sector. The integrated brazilian actives are nine toll road concessions, totalling 3,227 kilometers.

abertis is also the first toll road operator in Chile, with more than 770 kilometers in concession, through the operators elqui, gesa, rutas del pacífico and Autopista Central. Additionally, in 2012 abertis has acquired another three Chilean concessionaires: autopista del sol, autopista los andes and autopista los libertadores.

In Puerto Rico, abertis has a presence as a toll road operator since almost 20 years ago, through the concessionaire apr. It also manages the consortium metropistas. 

The Group has a stake in operators in Argentina and Colombia, too.
