abertis telecom is Spain’s leading telecommunications infrastructure and services group and one of those with the greatest international profile, following the acquisition in January 2007 of a 32% stake in satellite operator Eutelsat.

abertis telecom, via tradia and retevisión owns the main site network for the broadcast and delivery of radio and television signals in Spain. More than 3,200 centres throughout Spain provide audiovisual signals for more than 12 million homes.

In Spain, abertis telecom, via tradia and retevisión:

· Possesses the largest network of radio and television signal broadcasting and distribution sites.

· Offers the most advanced audiovisual services for analogue and digital television and radio broadcasting.

· Provides mobile telecommunications services for public security and emergency networks.

· Provides telecommunications services for telephone operators.

abertis telecom focuses its growth strategy in Spain on the encouragement and development of digital technology, in accordance with the National Technological Plan for DTT, and the development of integrated mobile telecommunication services for operators, corporate networks and security and emergency services. It also works towards international expansion with investments in radio and TV signal transmission and broadcasting networks.

abertis telecom currently transports the signal for 20 digital channels from 153 centres of its broadcasting network (more than 85% of the population), completely adapted to new audiovisual products.

At the end of 2006, abertis telecom boosted its European strategy with the purchase of 32% of Eutelsat, the continent’s leading satellite operator, making it the company’s largest shareholder. With a fleet of 24 satellites in geostationary orbit, Eutelsat occupies a leading position in Europe, where it has a market share of 30% and it is the world’s third-largest operator, with a market share of 13%.
