abertis autopistas initiates a customer service project based on interactive information points

·  The system offers information on the state of the roads, the weather forecast, services on the toll roads and safety advice.

·  The project has been awarded the Total Media prize for the best customer service system at the International Digital Signage Show, held at the Ifema exhibition centre.


abertis autopistas has initiated a customer service project based on interactive information points with the aim of improving customer service and meeting real-time information needs. As a pilot test, three totem displays have been installed in the Porta de Barcelona (AP-7, Barcelona), La Jonquera (AP-7, Girona) and Altube (AP-68, Álava) service areas, and have been well received by customers. In October another two points will be installed in Villacastín (AP-6, Segovia) and Sagunto (AP-7, Valencia).

Using a map of Europe, customers can easily navigate through different applications and obtain online information on the state of the roads, the weather forecast and the services available on each of the roads, as well as safety advice. The information points also offer the possibility of finding out about the different places of interest which the customer may find during their journey and in their destination.

For increased convenience, the totem display enables mobile phone applications containing the information of most interest to customers to be downloaded via bluetooth. The totem displays are connected to a central computer from where it is possible to intelligently adapt their content to the customers' location.
