This weekend abertis autopistas will open the third and fourth lanes of the AP-7 toll road from Fornells de La Selva to La Jonquera. This means that the works to widen the road to three or four lanes, as well as the road surfacing works, will be completely finished in Girona.
Following the approval of the Government Office for National Toll Highway Concessionaire Companies, abertis autopistas (through acesa) has also awarded the contract for the construction of the Vilademuls junction to the Scrinser-Romero Polo-Sacyr consortium. These works, which will begin in the coming weeks, are expected to be completed in September 2013.
The construction works on the third lane in Girona, covering a total of 78 kilometres, form part of the project to widen the AP-7 toll road which abertis autopistas has implemented along a total of 125 kilometres between La Jonquera and Vilaseca-Salou (Tarragona). The purpose of these improvements is to increase the road's capacity and offer toll road users better service conditions.
