The abertis Board of Directors agreed, in the course of the board meeting held yesterday in Barcelona, to set 30 June as the date, on second calling, for the Extraordinary Shareholders’ General Meeting, which will be asked to approve the merger with the Italian group autostrade.
This is the next stage in the process, following notification of the operation made on 23 April and approval by the abertis Board of Directors on 3 May of the proposed merger.
The merger will give rise to the world leader in infrastructure management, with a market capitalisation of approximately 25,000 million euros.
The new abertis resulting from the merger will operate in 16 countries, having almost 20,000 employees and managing a highway network, airports, telecommunication networks, car parks and logistic platforms that will generate annual income of more than 6,000 million euros and EBITDA of 3,800 million euros.
