·David Díaz, until now abertis' Strategy and Corporate Development General Manager, will be the new General Manager of Autopistas América, to which the businesses in Puerto Rico, Chile and Argentina all report, as well as the United States office.
·The Chief Financial Officer, José Aljaro, will take on the Group's Corporate Development duties.
·The new organisation - which was presented at the latest meeting of the Group's directors held recently in Girona - simplifies abertis' Management Committee, which has set as priority objectives an improvement in cost efficiency and the company's international growth.
abertis announced at the Group's latest Global Directors' Meeting - which brought together a hundred of abertis' most senior directors in Girona to discuss the challenges faced over the coming years - a restructuring of the company's senior management organisation chart.
The aim of the new organisation chart is to simplify the company's Management Committee, as well as the matrix relationship between abertis' business units and corporate services. "The group is faced with the challenge of continuing to grow, whilst making foreign growth a particular priority", said Francisco Reynés during his speech to the directors. "In order to do this" - added the Group's Managing Director - "we must also adapt our organisation in order to allow this growth to take place, as well as improving the efficiency of operations so as to maximise the free cash flow available for investment".
The new organisation chart includes two particularly important corporate departments: the Financial Department, at the head of which is José Aljaro - who will also take on the Group's Corporate Development as part of the restructuring; and the Resources and Efficiency Department, headed by Lluís Deulofeu. The establishment of the latter department confirms the strategic importance given by the Group to efficiency in operations at this time.
