acesa appoints a new Director General

Josep Lluís Giménez, who has until now been Director of abertis’ Autopistas Sudamérica, has been appointed Director-General of acesa-aucat to replace Lluís Serra, who leave offices due to retirement and who has been the chief executive officer of the two motorway concession operators over the last four years.

Josep Lluís Giménez (Barcelona, 1957), an economist by profession, has until now held, in addition to the position of Director of Autopistas Sudamérica de abertis, the Chairmanship of Concesionario del Oeste (GCO) in Argentina. Prior to joining the abertis group, he was Director-General of Q-Factory-21 and Operations and Finance Director of Inmobiliaria Colonial.

Lluís Serra (Barcelona, 1942), a lawyer by profession, joined the abertis group in 2000 as Director General of Acesa Logística. Noteworthy amongst other achievements during his term as Director-General of acesa was the signing of the agreement with the Spanish Ministry of Public Works on the widening of the AP-7 motorway, involving for acesa an investment of 500 million in improvements to the Mediterranean’s main road corridor. Lluís Serra is planned to join the acesa Board of Directors shortly.

acesa is the abertis concessionaire that operates the Montgat-Palafolls (C-31/C-32), Barcelona-La Jonquera (AP-7), Barcelona-Tarragona (AP-7), Montmeló-El Papiol (AP-7) and Zaragoza-Mediterráneo (AP-2) motorways. For its part, aucat manages the Pau Casals (C-32) Motorways, which covers the Castelldefels-Sitges and Sitges-El Vendrell routes.
