acesa awards the tender for preliminary work on the widening of the AP-7 south

acesa has, following acceptation by the Government Representative in National Toll Motorway Operator Companies, awarded tenders for the preliminary works prior to the construction of a third lane on the AP-7 South motorway, on the Mediterranean (AP-7/AP-2 confluence)-Vila-seca/Salou (Tarragona) section. These preliminary works, involving the widening of structures, will not affect traffic, will begin immediately and will continue until December.

The call for tenders for the preliminary works was published in the Official Journal of the European Communities (OJEC) on 8 March and in the Boletín Oficial del Estado (BOE, Spain’s Official Journal) on 10 March. The successful tenderers for the different sections are the construction companies Copisa Constructora Pirenaica, S.A., Comsa Empresa Constructora, S.A. and Copcisa, S.A.

From the start of the preliminary works, acesa will make available to the users the required channels (information panels, radio stations, regular newsletters such as the “Tercer Carril” (Third Lane), the updating of information in real time on its web site, etc.) to ensure sufficient and timely information is provided on the progress of the road widening works.

Once the preliminary works have progressed, the widening of the AP-7 South will commence after summer with the building of a third lane on each side of the Mediterranean (AP-7/AP-2 confluence)-Vila-seca/Salou section. On 19 and 23 May, the OJEC and the BOE, respectively, published announcements of the call for tenders for this project, with a deadline ending on 25 June.
