The General Manager of acesa, Josep Lluís Giménez, and the Projects and Works Manager, Josep Armengol, have today taken stock of the situation of the widening works on the AP-7 tollroad in the municipal districts of Girona. The event, held at the Palacio de Congresos Auditorium in Girona, was attended by the Deputy Delegate of the Government in Girona, Francesc Francisco-Busquets, and the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Girona, Domènec Espadalé.
The widening works on the AP-7 tollroad are currently being developed in the Maçanet-Fornells section, over 18.7 kilometres, where the road will be widened from two to three lanes. The works are progressing according to plan. Specifically, a 10-kilometre section of the total of 37 kilometres of additional lane has been completed. 70% of the structural widening works has also been completed. Specifically, 6.7 kilometres has been completed along the outside of the road, and various sections of 3.3 kilometres along the central reservation. The works are therefore still expected to be concluded in July 2010.
As a whole, the widening works on the AP-7 in Girona are being carried out sequentially, in sections. This will enable the widening work to be gradual and sustained throughout the whole period, keeping the current lanes open, including those under construction.
