acesa and aucat have activated a special traffic plan for the ‘Constitución’ long week-end, in order to make movement easier throughout its road network.
There will be no activity over this week-end on the works to widen the AP-7 motorway from two to three lanes in the Maçanet-Fornells section in the area of Girona.
The works to widen the AP-7 with a third lane, which are under way in the Mediterráneo stretch (link with the AP-2) and at Vila-Seca/Salou, will continue, as they are at the final stage, but will have no effect on the traffic. Here, as is usual in these situations, the vehicles on the motorway will have special lay-byes at various points for emergency stops.
To improve fluidity of movement, acesa and aucat recommend drivers to find out about the state of the traffic before setting out on their journey. Users can consult the web sites http://www.autopistas.com/ and http://www.aucat.es/, which provide all the information in real time on the road networks they manage and forecast traffic density.
They also suggest that users plan their journeys and try to avoid the times when the heaviest traffic is forecast. Over this week-end, acesa and aucat are also reinforcing their teams, so as to improve service to users and meet the demands caused by increased traffic. The motorway radio service (radiopista), which provides information from the acesa Operations Centre on various radio channels, will maintain its frequency of connection over this week-end.
