abertis logistics – the business area of the abertis group dedicated to the development of logistics parks - announces that the Metropolitan Area Regional Environmental Commission (COREMA), has agreed to classify the abertis logisticspark santiago project's Environmental Impact Report as environmentally favourable.
abertis logisticspark santiago is looking at a total investment estimated at US$300 million. This project, Santiago's first integrated logistics park, will be carried out in stages over the next ten years and will generate more than 5,000 direct and 10,000 indirect jobs.
The project's timeline anticipates that the first 20,000 m2 of logistics space will be available for lease in the first quarter of 2010.
abertis logistics is one of the five business areas of the international abertis group, whose headquarters are in the Spanish city of Barcelona. The group is dedicated to the management of mobility and telecommunications infrastructures.
It has had a presence in Chile since 1997. Chile is the only country outside of Spain where the group operates in all its business areas. Thus, to tollroads, telecommunications, airports and car parks, can now be added the logistics area.
