• Francisco Reynés appointed as new Chief Executive Officer of the Group.
• The Board has at the same time approved the nomination of Josep Maria Coronas as Secretary General and Vice Secretary of the Board, taking over the prior responsibilities of Joan Artur Margenat.
As proposed by the Executive President, Salvador Alemany, the Board of Directors of Abertis Infraestructuras, S.A., has approved the nominations of Francisco Reynés as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Group, and Josep Maria Coronas as Secretary General.
Francisco Reynés joined the Board of abertis in May 2009 and has since been responsible for the Corporate Development Office of the Group. Reynés holds a degree as an Industrial Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and an MBA from IESE. Since July 2007 and until his joining the Group, he was Managing Director of Criteria CaixaCorp. Previously, Francisco Reynés held the position of Managing Director and member of the Executive Committee of Gas Natural. He was previously Chief Executive Officer of Uniland and during his professional career held management positions at companies including Johnson Controls UK, Volkswagen Group and Dogi.
For his part, Josep Maria Coronas is assuming his new responsibilities after his joining the Group last January as Vice Secretary General. Coronas is taking over these responsibilities from Joan Artur Magenat, who is retiring after managing this position since 1981. Josep Maria Coronas is a State lawyer, economist and a full member of the Royal Academy of Economics and Finance. Among other responsibilities he has been Secretary of the Catalan Regional Economic Administration Tribunal and Director of the Legal Counsel of the Department of Economics and Finance of the Generalitat of Catalonia.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Office will be: the Chief Operating Officer and the Chief Financial Officer, positions held by Josep Martínez Vila and José Aljaro respectively; as well as the assigned functions of the Corporate Development Office.
In addition to the Chief Executive Office, the following positions will report directly to the President of the Group: the General Secretary; the Studies and Communications Corporate Direction, directed by Toni Brunet; and the Institutional Relations Corporate Direction, managed by Sergi Loughney.
