The company will set up its first support warehouse in the park for the three distribution plants it has in the Iberian peninsula
Araba Logística S.A. has signed an agreement with the French logistics group, GEFCO, for the rental of floor area covering a total of 3,951m² in unit 1.4 of the Arasur park. The company will use this location to set up its first support warehouse for the three distribution plants it has in the Iberian peninsula (Vigo, Madrid-Villaverde and Portugal-Mangualde). The agreement will initially be for one year.
The rented floor area includes two modules of 1,882m² each, and 187m² of office space. GEFCO will set up an area for the collection, storage and distribution of parts aimed at supplying its suppliers, who are located more than 1,200km away from the production plants.
This new warehouse is expected to create twelve new jobs and receive a dozen trucks every day, primarily from Eastern Europe, thereby consolidating complete transport units which provide optimum routes with a direct link to the Vigo, Mangualde and Madrid platforms.
GEFCO España has around 5,000 customers and represents 10% of the group's total business. The Spanish subsidiary of the logistics operator, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, achieved turnover of €281 million in 2009.
