abertis autopistas announced today that from next year it will cease to accept professional cards (cards issued by non-financial issuers) for vehicles with a maximum authorised mass (MAM) equal to or over 3.5 tonnes on its toll road network in Spain. From 31 December 2012 only teletoll systems such as Via-T and cards issued by financial issuers will therefore be accepted in these cases.
abertis autopistas has thus responded to the need of non-financial issuers to combat fraud committed with these types of cards. Accordingly, this measure has been carried out jointly with the issues of the cards in question (Repsol, Cepsa, Servisa, DKV and Ressa, among others), replacing them with Via-T, the safest payment system.
Via-T is the safest toll road payment system around today as it is based on state-of-the-art technology and is also valid throughout the Spanish toll road network. Via T also offers transport professionals various discounts and advantages.
