abertis makes the immense majority of its purchases from local suppliers in order to foster economic development in the communities where the group operates.

In the same way, it extends its commitment to Social Responsibility to its suppliers and contractors by including social and environmental clauses in contracts and invitations to tender. This is a way of extending the commitment to suppliers and generating positive synergies in the network by sharing good practices.

With this aim, abertis has implemented the Corporate Standard for the Approval and Continuous Assessment of Suppliers. To do this it appraised the different systems in use in the group and laid down the basic requirements to be implemented by all group companies in their respective procedures for approving suppliers.
